The Punk

The Punk subculture emerged in 1976. Punks were consciously working class, scruffy, earthy in dirty clothing and language. Punks would source their clothing from charity and thrift shops, where they would cut them up and refashion them into outfits; turning deconstructed garments into new forms by using safety pins and chains to hold fabrics together. Trousers were deliberately torn and revealed laddered tights and dirty legs underneath. These were worn with heavy Doc Martens. Padlocks and razor blades were worn as pendants on chains and body piercings proved popular.

I have put together my interpretation of a classic Punk look below.
