The Teddy Boy
The Teddy Boys date back to the late 1940s and early 1950s. They were the first real high profile rebel teenagers, who flaunted their clothes and attitude. In the beginning the look consisted of drapes and drainpipe trousers. That look was then customised; the drapes with collar, cuff and pocket trimmings, even narrower trousers, beetle crushers or crepe soled shoes and hairstyle heavily greased into a quiff and shaped into a ducks arse (DA), this was because it resembled one.
Below, I have put together my interpretation of a classic Teddy Boy look.
