London, 1958. The Mod subculture began. This soon spread throughout Great Britain and elsewhere. The subculture was focused around fashion and music. Looking to Europe for inspiration, significant elements of Mod subculture fashion include: Italian look, slim-fit suits and motor scooters (usually Vespa or Lambretta). Mixing formal and casual pieces together and Chelsea boots were also Mod style staples. Originally the Mod scene was associated with amphetamine-fuelled all night dancing at clubs. The Mods were obsessed by fashion and by the hedonistic cult of super-cool.
I have put together my interpretation of a Modernist look below.
